A two year certification process for Youth Ministers, Directors of Religious Education, Lay Leaders of Ecclesial Movements (TEC, CL, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Youth 2000, etc.), and Pastoral Teams who have youth in their parish.  The Certificate is “portable” (which means that it is recognized in dioceses across the United States ).

The purpose and outcome of the Certificate is to build confidence and competence in the area of Youth Formation in the Catholic Church.

Cycle I:  (Summer 2004)

  • Principles of Youth Ministry June 21 – 22, 2004
  • Practices of Youth Ministry   June 23 – 24, 2004
  • Foundations of Ministry Leadership July 19– 20, 2004
  • Skills for Christian Leadership July 21 – 22, 2004

 
Cycle II: (Summer 2005)

  • Fostering the Faith Growth of Adolescents through Evangelization and Catechesis
  • Fostering the Faith Growth of Adolescents through Justice & Service
  • Fostering the Faith Growth of Adolescents through Pastoral Care
  • Fostering the Faith Growth of Adolescents through Prayer & Worship

Catholic Center , Evansville .


Costs are subject to change. ( 2/5/04 )

The tuition for a single participant from a Parish in the Diocese of Evansville is $145 per person, per session.  This includes tuition, books, fees, and lunch each day for the two day session.  The cost for the two week long events is $580 per person (or $145 x 4 sessions). 


The tuition, per person, for a participant from a parish where there are three or more from the parish (or approved cluster) is $125 per person, per session.  This includes tuition, books, fees, and lunch each day for the two day session.  The cost for the two week long events is $500 per person for a parish (or approved cluster) of 3 or more participants.  You do not have to be a paid staff member to get these discounts.  You do have to be approved by the Pastor as a member of the parish. 


Bring a friend: The tuition will be reduced by $15 per session (or $520 total for the four sessions) if you register a friend from any parish in the Diocese of Evansville. 


LIMITED scholarships are available.  These will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.  These are only partial scholarships.  Awards of scholarships will be announced in May 2004 for the Cycle I courses.  Preference will be given to parishes that serve a large minority population or rural population.


Out of diocese costs:  Participants from outside the diocese of Evansville are welcome to join us.  The cost per session for “out of diocese” participants is $165 per person, per session.  There are no other discounts.  This does not include housing costs or meals other than lunch.
