Catholic Education Foundation
2010-2011 TUITION GRANT
APPLICATIONS
MATER DEI & MEMORIAL
HIGH SCHOOLS
Catholic Education Foundation applications are
available for parents
wishing to apply for tuition assistance for their children to attend
either Mater Dei or Reitz Memorial High School. Tuition grants are
awarded on the basis of financial need. Names of applicants and
awards are kept in strictest confidence. Applications are available
at Catholic school offices and parish offices within the city
as well as at Reitz Memorial and Mater Dei High School offices.
Applications
may also be printed from the Catholic high schools'
websites: Mater Dei at www.materdeiwildcats.com or Memorial at
mhs.evansville.net. Applications for the 2010-2011 school year
must be submitted by March 12, 2010.
Beginning early in 2010, a Scholarship Granting
Organization (SGO)
will be established under the leadership of the Diocese of Evansville
to allow “school choice”, or tuition assistance for students who
qualify financially, and who wish to transfer from public school to private
school.
Parents can also apply to an SGO for tuition assistance for a child
who will be entering kindergarten. Businesses and individuals
are allowed a fifty percent Indiana tax credit in addition to the
usual federal deduction for contributions made to an SGO. It is recommended
that
qualified parents of high school students apply to an SGO first,
then to CEF if additional funding is needed.
For more information please
call the CEF office at 402-6700, Extension 302 or email cef@evdio.org.
